I started my career auditing Banks and was hired part time by a client to manage their accounting department. This arrangement afforded me the luxury of having time to spend with my young children and advance my career at the same time. I still feel incredibly lucky to have had that flexibility. I am extremely grateful for that opportunity, the best part about it is that I love what I do. I take a lot of pride in what I do and I derive a great amount of satisfaction from the work that we do at the Bank, both for our customers and in our community.
I can think of two professional female mentors, an accounting professor I had while at Simmons College and my boss while working at the audit firm. I was exposed to both of them early on in my career and they showed me that it was possible to be compassionate, professional, and perform with high standards. Mentoring is a huge part of my responsibility here at the Bank. Fostering a relationship of mutual respect, teaching by example, encouraging people to be creative and go out of their comfort zone, offering my advice… are all things I strive to be good at every day.
My favorite movie is a tie between The Town and The Departed. I love gritty Boston movies, especially when the actors have genuine Boston accents.
I consider my most rewarding success to be when I get to see someone at the Bank grow, expand their role, and flourish. I am very passionate about what I do and when I see someone else with that same passion, getting the same satisfaction out of their work here at the Bank, that is a success story. I am also satisfied when I see the positive impact the Bank has in the community. Making a difference for a customer or a local organization is truly what it is all about.
